23A Ludlow Road

23A Ludlow Road was built in 2007 to then current insulation standards. There is double glazing throughout. Derek and Pat are gradually replacing lighting to have LED lighting in all rooms. EnergyZone installed an air source heat pump (ASHP) heating in November 2021. They also have solar PV. The owners have an electric car and take advantage of a programmable Zappi smart charger to charge their car from either daytime rates, PV output or off peak.  Derek has commented that the ASHP is much cheaper to run than the former gas boiler. The estimated energy costs at current fixed rate price with Octopus Energy is £1,300 pa. The veranda to the rear of the property is made of composite material. There are two water barrels.
